JnU Correspondent: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Jagannath University (JnU) unit of the Chhatra Dal organized a tree plantation program on Thursday, June 5, aimed at environmental preservation and greening. The event was inaugurated at noon on the university campus.

Several leaders and activists of the organization, including JnU Chhatra Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Himel and Member Secretary Shamsul Arefin, were present at the event. As part of the initiative, various fruit-bearing, medicinal, and forest trees were planted around the university premises and nearby areas.

JnU Chhatra Dal Convener Mehedi Hasan Himel stated, “Through today’s tree plantation program, we want to promote the message of environmental protection. If we wish to provide a livable world for future generations, we must become aware now.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Member Secretary Shamsul Arefin emphasized, “Beyond politics, we have social responsibilities as well. Students must play a leading role in environmental conservation and tackling climate change.”

Meanwhile, Joint Convener Md. Shahriar Hossain remarked, “A tree means a life. Trees play a vital role in ensuring a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The Bangladesh Nationalist Student Party has always been conscious of environmental issues, and JnU Chhatra Dal continues this commitment through today’s initiative.”
