Jagannath University Correspondent: The Jagannath University Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Bangladesh Democratic Student Council have issued an ultimatum demanding the publication of the Jagannath University Student Union (JAKSU) policy and election roadmap within three working days. Additionally, they called for a transparent investigation into all recruitment processes from the past 15 years and the subsequent release of findings. Furthermore, they insisted on the submission of a white paper within 90 working days.

The demands were made at a press conference held on Thursday (April 17) beneath the Language Martyr Rafik Building at the university.

Key demands include bringing the perpetrators and instigators of fascist attacks on the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement to justice, waiving all academic fees for injured students, conducting a transparent investigation into all recruitment processes over the past 15 years, and presenting the findings. Additionally, they demanded the completion and progress disclosure of the second campus project, submission of a corruption white paper within 20 working days, resolution of student housing issues, commencement of dormitory construction within 15 days, allocation of housing stipends, proportional budget allocation, organization of convocation, and publication of JAKSU policy and election roadmap within three working days.

At the press conference, Nawshin Nawar Joya, spokesperson for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, stated that students have persistently protested against discrimination, irregularities, and corruption at the university but have yet to receive proper redress. She urged the administration to implement their demands in detail and publish a clear roadmap outlining its latest initiatives.
Masud Rana, convenor of the movement, asserted that students had already granted ample time to the university administration for JAKSU-related affairs. He warned that they would no longer allow further delays, stating that if demands remained unmet, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Bangladesh Democratic Student Council would mobilize general students to ensure fulfillment.
Additionally, the organizations announced plans for poster campaigns next Monday, advocating for student housing, justice for victims of fascist attacks, and JAKSU elections. They pledged to continue unified protests in pursuit of broader student interests.
The press conference was attended by Kishore Samya, leader of the Bangladesh Democratic Student Council, Sifat Hasan, secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, along with other members and activists from both organizations.
