Jagannath University Correspondent: General students of Jagannath University submitted a memorandum to the Director of Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital, demanding punishment for Dr. Mosharraf Hossain, who has been accused of false allegations and illegal occupation of others’ property.

On Wednesday, April 16, at noon, a group of over a hundred students gathered at the gate of National Medical Institute. Subsequently, a 10-member team entered the hospital premises and handed over the memorandum to the Director.

The memorandum highlighted recent news reports published in various newspapers and online portals under the headline, “Dr. Mosharraf Hossain of National Medical forcibly occupies others’ property.” It also mentioned that the accused doctor had previously made false and self-serving allegations of extortion amounting to 2 million BDT against Mehedi Hasan Himel, the respected convener of Jagannath University Chhatra Dal, who is widely admired across all groups. These baseless accusations have caused concern and outrage among all active student organizations and general students of the university.

On April 13, Dr. Mosharraf allegedly looted medical equipment belonging to four other partners. When Mehedi Hasan Himel’s uncle, Dr. Haris, requested a discussion on the matter, Dr. Mosharraf accused Himel of extortion. These allegations were described as entirely false, fabricated, and baseless.
Mehedi Hasan Himel, the convener of Jagannath University Chhatra Dal, has demonstrated transparency and integrity, preserving all relevant evidence.
The memorandum demanded the formation of an investigative committee to uncover the truth behind Dr. Mosharraf Hossain’s alleged misconduct and ensure appropriate punishment.
