Dhaka Representative: Kazi Zia Uddin Baseet, a student of Jagannath University and Vice President of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, organized a Sehri and prayer gathering for visually impaired orphans.
The Sehri and prayer gathering took place on the night of March 25 at Madinatul Ulum, a visually impaired orphanage, and Hafizi Madrasa in Konapara, Jatrabari.
The holy month of Ramadan is a time of self-discipline and spiritual striving. It offers a great opportunity for self-purification and controlling one’s negative tendencies. This month is a spring of faith, good deeds, and worship, during which the reward for every act of worship is multiplied manifold.
In addition to physical acts of worship, financial acts of worship hold special significance during this month. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his generosity during Ramadan, giving abundant charity. Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA) said, “The Prophet (PBUH) was the most generous in doing good, especially during Ramadan.” (His generosity had no limits) because every night until the end of Ramadan, Angel Jibril (AS) would meet him, and the Prophet (PBUH) would recite the Quran to him. When Jibril (AS) visited, the Prophet (PBUH) became even more generous than the flowing wind in his charity.” (Bukhari, Hadith: 4997)
Kazi Zia Uddin Baseet stated, “I am pleased to organize the Sehri and prayer gathering with the visually impaired Hafizes, praying for the forgiveness of the soul of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman, the recovery of our country’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the long life and good health of BNP’s Acting Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman, and the forgiveness of all the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising.”
